Meet Our Instructors!

Studio Owner & Pilates Instructor | Kim Tuthill

Kim Headshot

Kim began with her boutique on wheels in California, traveling to different farmers markets, fitness studios, and house parties, where she quickly found that her customer was the busy mom and working woman. What really resonated with her was being able to help these women feel more confident and tackle their day to day while feeling positive about themselves. The business moved to a brick-and-mortar shop, with online sales, and it was featured in Voyage LA as an up and coming female-owned small business.

Kim found that being able to learn on the job and pivot on a dime when necessary helped her to anticipate possible pitfalls and opportunities very easily. Even though she sold the business, she never  lost the love of helping women feel their very best.

Before she even moved to Las Vegas with her husband and then three-year-old-son, Kim chose P+Y because she liked the small business aspect, especially because she likes to support women-owned businesses, and the studio was way less intimidating than a big gym.

Kim found her love for Pilates after taking her first class five years ago. She had wanted to try the Pilates apparatus for years, but she felt too intimidated and wasn’t sure what she was getting herself into. Still, she took a chance. She found the community was inviting, not judgmental. In only one class she knew it was the space for her. She dove head first into daily classes. Pilates allowed her to quiet her mind while working out. She loved that she was sore after her classes, but still felt good and wasn’t too sore to move. The exercises were doable and she could see herself progressing to harder variations. She saw the potential for longevity with her Pilates practice.

It wasn’t long before she was inquiring about becoming an instructor. With her background in merchandise marketing, Kim knew fitness was different than the fashion industry. But having felt all the positive effects of Pilates, both physically and mentally, she knew this was the exact space for her. She completed the Teacher Training Program at Pilates + Yoga in April of 2021 and began teaching right away. She furthered her studies by becoming a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher by the Pilates Method Alliance and started teaching the teacher training course herself.

Pilates Manager & Instructor | Tracey Gittins

Born and raised in Warrington, England, Tracey Gittins discovered her rhythm early in life, setting the stage for a career as a professional dancer. After completing her formal dance training in the UK she performed all over the globe for 20+ years, ending up on the dazzling stages of Las Vegas.

A  dedicated Pilates enthusiast, Tracey earned her Pilates certification from DK Body Balancing at UNLV over a decade ago, but it wasn’t until last year that she embraced her passion for teaching.

She discovered Pilates during her career as a professional dancer, drawn to its familiar form and the undeniable benefits it offers to dancers.

Upon retiring from the stage, she transitioned into teaching Pilates, viewing it as a natural progression in her career.  In 2022 Tracey stepped into the role of Pilates instructor at Pilates + Yoga in Las Vegas where she has channeled the expertise gained from her dance background with her passion for movement into guiding others on their wellness journey. Tracey’s dedication is evident in her commitment to creating a warm and inclusive space where everyone, regardless of background or ability, can embrace and enjoy the benefits of Pilates.

Tracey also holds her certification in Pregnancy Pilates, showcasing her versatility and understanding of the interconnectedness of mind and body. Tracey has found profound fulfillment in guiding this special population through the transformative practice of Pilates.

Beyond the studio, Tracey embraces the beautiful chaos of motherhood, cherishing the role of being a mom to her 8-year-old daughter.

Yoga Manager & Instructor | Stephanie “Smithy” Smith

Smithy Headshot

A 22-year Las Vegas resident, originally from snowy Toronto, Canada (talk about a change), Smithy discovered yoga late in her professional dance career when she realized her body wasn’t loving the stage life as much as she did. What originally started as a method to strengthen and maintain her body—and hopefully reverse some of the damage dancing had done—became a deep love of the practice.

So when Smithy was offered the chance to attend yoga teacher training, she rolled up her mat and leapt in feet first. Training taught her there was so much more to yoga than she ever thought, and she couldn’t wait to share the practice with others in a meaningful and approachable way. Soon after completing her yoga teacher training, Smithy became fascinated with the nervous system in relation to grief, trauma, and stress and dove deep into the vital role yoga plays in the process of moving through difficult experiences and rebalancing the nervous system. Today, she loves nothing more than helping others heal, restore, rebalance, and tap into the power of play through the practice of yoga. When she’s not on her mat, she’s most likely snuggling her two fur babies, Zoey and Bob or enthusiastically watching a hockey game (go knights go!).

Pilates Instructor & Physical Therapist | Kerry Margolin

Kerry Headshot

Kerry Margolin is a BASI certified Pilates instructor, NASM CPT, and barre3 instructor. She hails from New Hampshire and holds a BFA from the University of Arizona where she studied dance and psychology. Upon graduating, her ten year dance career took her around the world as a Radio City Rockette, Las Vegas showgirl, and production dancer for Norwegian Cruise Lines. She has been training Las Vegas clients since her arrival in 2011 and is experienced with a wide variety of populations ranging anywhere from pre and postnatal to geriatric but she has always had a soft spot for people dealing with injuries and looking to improve their overall function. Her desire for learning more about the human body and movement system drove Kerry to return to the classroom, and she is currently a third year graduate student at UNLV pursuing her degree as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Her mission is to help her clients/patients improve their quality of life through healthy movement. She likes to recognize that aging is a privilege, and she strives to empower people to take control of their wellness and age with purpose.
